Jack Laurence Chalker was born on December 17, 1944, in Baltimore, MD. He attended Townson State College and Johns Hopkins University. His graduate specialty is the "History of Ideas." He married Eva C. Whitley in 1978. They have two sons: David, and Steven. They have a feline, Stonewall J. Alleycat, and a Pekingese, Mavra Chang. His may occupations include: professional typesetter, audio and computer reviewer, Air National Guard director, a publisher (see Mirage Press in the links page), and, of course, a novelist.
